Abstract
One of the reasons for tricuspid valve replacement in children is Ebstein’s anomaly. In the pediatric population, repeated re-prosthetics are inevitable due to the child’s growth. Currently endovascular valve replacements are relevant to minimize complications of major surgery including in childhood. Considering the accessory pathways anatomy, during reconstruction and replacement of the tricuspid valve, the risk of iatrogenic atrioventricular block can reach 34% that leads to pacemaker implantation.
The case report presents a unique case of implantation of an endocardial pacemaker lead in a pediatric right ventricle against the background of an existing Melody tricuspid valve prosthesis.
Considering the progress of endovascular valve replacement technics, we demonstrated the possibility and effectiveness of endocardial stimulation, despite a prosthetic tricuspid valve.
