Abstract
The Ozaki procedure is neotricuspidalization of the aortic valve with autologous pericardial flaps treated with glutaraldehyde. With such advantages as excellent postoperative hemodynamic parameters, preservation of natural expansion of the aortic root during systole, ensuring the most effective area of the aortic valve opening and no need for anticoagulants, this technique has proven itself well in adult patients with aortic valve pathology. Experience with the Ozaki operation in children is very limited and covers mainly older children, while the results of the operation for younger children and newborns are presented as isolated observations, are not discussed separately from the general cohort, and long-term results for them are completely absent. This report presents the early and intermediate results of aortic valve neocuspidalization using the Ozaki technique in a 3-year-old child with congenital aortic valve insufficiency.
