Abstract
The objective of this paper is exposing a wide audience of general practitioners to available in the literature assessment
scores of severe state and prognosis, which the specialists use in the field of intensive therapy and neonatology.
Severe state assessment scores developed for mature and immature newborns are subdivided into predictive
and current state assessment scores. The necessity of impartial assessment scores to evaluate the severity of the
state in neonatal practice is inspired by extensive adaptation of definitive medicine.
