Abstract
Since 2005 a total of 15 infants (4 boys and 11 girls) with defective communication between the right ventricle and
pulmonary trunk were operated. All the patients underwent right ventricle outflow tracks reconstruction without
ventricular septal defect closure. On discharge from the hospital arterial blood saturation of the operated patients
increased from 66.6 ± 11.9% to 93.6 ± 5.67%, hemoglobin content and hematocrit value were also less. Mortality rate
in this series of patients turned out to be 13.3%. This surgery may be recommended to children with pulmonary
artery atresia associated with pulmonary artery system hypoplasia and decreased left ventricle.
