Abstract
Thesupravalvular stenosis of mitral valve after correction of discharge of the left sided superior vena cava emptying into the left atrium is a rare
event. It is as a rule caused by the excess size of the patch used while making tunnel for transferring the additional left sided superior vena cava
from the left atrium into the right atrium near the fibrous ring of the mitral valve. In this anatomical case the supravalvularstenosis of the mitral
valve was repaired by making left-sided bidirectional cavopulmonary anastomosis with excision of tunnel for the left superior vena cava. The
chosen technique for defect repair has been successful which is confirmed by the length of stay in hospital and records of postoperative
echocardiography.
