Abstract
The objective of this systematic review was to collect modern opinions on general issues of diagnostics and treatment of heart failures
in infants with corrected congenital heart diseases, for the purpose of establishing an up-to-date general treatment profile.
Literature searches were conducted across Medline, Science Direct, Cochrane Library, and eLIBRARY, also analysis of reference lists
was performed. 9047 references were identified in total, of which 747 full-text papers published in the last 5 years were selected.
31 papers in total were further picked over as actually referring to pediatric cardiology practice, regarding general principles of diagnostics and treatment of infants with cardiac failure after correction of congenital heart disease. Furthermore, 33 fundamental and
often-cited studies on the same topic were manually selected. Thus, 64 studies comprised the theoretical basis for treatment profile.
Part 2 is dedicated to the treatment planning system.
