Abstract
Pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum is a critical congenital heart disease with ductus–dependent pulmonary circulation. This defect is diagnosed in the first days or months of the child’s life and has severe clinical manifestations from the moment of patient’s birth. We present a case of successful hybrid surgery in a newborn baby with type 1 pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum. The surgical treatment was performed in operation room with mobile angiography unit using median sternotomy approach and direct high-pressure balloon dilatation of pulmonary valve via right ventricular free wall.
