Abstract
The infracardiac total anomalous pulmonary vein connection (TAPVC) is detected in 20--25% of the patients with TAPVC. The infracardiac TAPVC is characterized by preoperative pulmonary venous obstruction (PVO) in the most cases, demanding emergency surgery right after birth. The preoperative pulmonary venous obstruction is the risk factor of postoperative PVO and associated with high morbidity and mortality after TAPVC surgery. In this report we present a clinical case of successful surgical treatment of the early postoperative pulmonary vein stenosis in an infant with infracardiac total anomalous pulmonary venous connection.
