Abstract
Right ventricular outflow tract reconstruction is a procedure which is the main cause of reoperations in patients with tetralogy of Fallot. Presence of a valved element in pulmonary artery position preserves right ventricle from the volume overload improving results of surgical intervention. Using biological monocusp patch for this purpose is related with high risk of the calcification and subsequent dysfunction of the prosthesis requiring its replacement. Thus using synthetic material for constructing monocusp patches becomes promising due to the sustainability to the calcification process. In this article we demonstrate our first experience with construction of PTFE monocusp patch for the pulmonary artery position.
