Abstract
Ductus arteriosus aneurysm is characterized by a localized saccular dilation of the ductus arteriosus (PDA). Frequency of occurrence is 0.8–8.8% among all PDA cases, according to the data of various authors. Often the initial manifestations of the pathology are the respiratory failure, or the stridorous breathing. The clinical course of the defect requires differential diagnosis and close dynamic monitoring as it is fraught with the development of serious complications (bronchus compression, recurrent laryngeal nerve compression, the rupture of the aneurysm). Spontaneous closure of the aneurism is shown in some cases, which does not require surgery. The timely diagnostics and elimination of the defect are the main task. In our article we describe the case of successful surgical removal of this pathology in the infant. Considering malformation anatomy and the risk of complications, a decision was made in favor of surgical treatment.
