Abstract
Congenital mitral valve aneurysm is a rather rare abnormality, often asymptomatic in early childhood. The most dangerous complication is perforation of the wall of the aneurysm, which can lead to the development of mitral regurgitation, as a result of which surgical intervention may be required. We present a case of successful correction of the aneurysm of the anterior mitral valve leaflet with prolapse and a breakthrough into the left atrium in a young child.
