Abstract
Objective. To evaluate the immediate and long-term results of treatment of aortic coarctation in newborns and infants.
Material and methods. A cohort retrospective study included 308 patients with aortic coarctation. The age of the patients was 11 (7; 23) days. Weight was 3.4 (2.8; 3.75) kg. The male gender predominated in the study, 61.7%.
Results. The hospital mortality rate was 10%. The only risk factor for death were patients with critical aortic coarctation. The frequency of aortic recoarctation was 9%. Predictors of aortic recoarctation were: low weight of the child at the time of surgery, operations from lateral access, remodeling of the aortic arch, absorbable suture material. The incidence of arterial hypertension was 22.4%. The predictors of arterial hypertension were: gothic aortic arch and left ventricular myocardial mass index greater than 59 g/m2 .
Conclusion. Long-term complications did not depend on the variant of correction of aortic coarctation.
