Abstract
Intrauterine infections still remain one of the main pathologies of childhood. They not only lead to high mortality rates, but are the main cause of disability in patients.
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), is a global public health emergency with significant morbidity and mortality. Members of the coronavirus family are known to be responsible for severe complications during pregnancy, such as miscarriage, fetal growth restriction, and congenital anomalies.
According to world researchers, the main impact of coronavirus infection on the fetus falls precisely in the first trimester. However, to date, very little research has focused on the impact of COVID-19 on pregnant women and their fetuses in late pregnancy.
In this article, we would like to present a clinical observation of congenital heart disease in the fetuses of pregnant women who had COVID-19 in the second trimester of pregnancy. All the fetuses we studied are united by a certain pattern, namely damage to the valvular apparatus of the pulmonary artery.
