Abstract
In spite of achievements in the treatment of coarctation late results cannot be termed satisfactory up to now. Life span of these patients is less than in the whole population, there is still high rate of recurrences and arterial hypertension. Aortic arch hypoplasia occurs not only in newborns with coarctation but also in other year classes. In recent years there are wide debates regarding a role of this factor in the development of such complications as recoarctation, recurrent and residual arterial hypertension, aneurism formation at the zone of reconstruction.
