Abstract
The article is devoted to a very important issue - information support of families at all stages of treatment and follow- up of children with congenital heart defects. To this end, in August 2006 a hot line of Internet-consultations Childs Heart was organized at the site of Bakoulev Scientific Centre for Cardiovascular Surgery. The project is socially-oriented, its end aim is to improve quality of life of congenital heart defects children. Population limited awareness about congenital heart defects treatment results in postponing the beginning of treatment that, subsequently, influences patients outcome and quality of life. This project developed due to extremely limited and sometimes completely unavailable information about treatment of children with congenital heart defects for Russian people. The hot-line makes contacts of patients, their parents and guardians with experts in congenital heart defects more personal. Hot-line consultations will give all the interested people opportunity to get answers to the questions concerning congenital heart defects.
