Abstract
Infants with coarctation of the aorta, combined with ventricular septal defect, correction of both anomalies can be performed at the same time in
the neonatal period. Alternative to this approach is landmark surgical treatment: in the beginning – elimination of coarctation of the aorta, and
after a while – closing of defect of an interventricular partition. Opposing these methods, supporters of one-stage correction prove similar tactics
by reduction of the general duration of treatment. Nevertheless, the vast majority of newborns with the specified combination of the congenital
heart diseases which have transferred only correction of a coarctation of the aorta, in the remote terms needs surgical closing of septalny defect.
