Abstract
Introduction. Patients after surgical treatment of congenital heart disease (CHD) require life-long monitoring of medical specialists.
Preparations for the transfer of adolescents with CHD under the supervision of medical professionals serving the adult population
requires more attention from the state and society. The purpose of this study - the study of the causes affecting timely access to cardiologists in patients with CHD.
Material and methods. The study included data questionnaires completed 182 adult patients with CHD in age from 18 to 25 years,
which operations were performed in childhood, compared with statistical charts of these patients stored in the cardiac surgery hospital. Inclusion criteria were the presence of discharged patients have Russian citizenship, carrying out one or more operations on the
UPU under the age of 18 years. Studied factors influencing the compliance of planned visits to medical specialists, timely access to
cardiologists in patients with CHD.
Results. The main reasons that patients are not observed in the cardiac surgery hospital, where he carried out the operation, named:
no need for consultation, in accordance with the recommendations of the cardiologist (n = 34), the lack of financial resources to travel to Moscow (n = 29), in the Cardiology Center observation of residence (n = 16), ignorance of the mechanisms appointment (n=14),
long-distance (n = 13). Periodically a cardiologist, including the place of residence, 80.2% of adult patients with CHD. More than half
of patients with CHD (67.8%) observed in the community cardiologists to advise the adult population. Of the 95 adolescents after
surgical treatment of CHD 69 (72.6%) observed in the community cardiologists, providing surveillance of adult patients with cardiac
disease. A number of adult patients with complicated forms of CHD do not receive skilled cardiac care. Residence the majority of
patients with this pathology in both groups advise cardiologists, not specializing in issues of the CHD.
Conclusion. It is advisable to develop a strategy for the organization of a new direction training cardiologists - to management adult
patients who underwent surgical treatment in childhood CHD.
