Abstract
Subvalvular aortic stenosis, caused by an abnormality of the mitral valve is a rare disease. We report a case of a successful correction
of subvalvular aortic stenosis, caused an abnormality of the mitral valve with fibrous subaortic membrane at the child 3 years old.
The operation was performed on the cardiopulmonary bypass, hypothermia and cardioplegia. Because of impossibility of adequate
elimination of subvalvular aortic stenosis only due to excision of the membrane, the patient underwent resection of the mitral valve
and it's accessory tissue followed by implantation of the artificial heart valve into the mitral position. The early postoperative period
was complicated by the development of a third-degree atrioventricular block with the restoration of a normal sinus rhythm, but it
receded to a stable sinus rhythm to the date of discharge from hospital.
