Abstract
Congenital pulmonary artery stenosis or hypoplasia may occur as individual lesion as well as concomitant pathology with various congenital heart diseases (CHD) such as tetralogy of Fallot (TF), hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), common arterial trunk (CAT) and double outlet right ventricle (DORV). Taking into account the severity of CHD in these patients, due to the often need for repeated surgical intervention, various alternative therapies, such as hybrid heart surgery, are being developed. A combined effort of traditional and endovascular surgeons allows us to perform a wide range of operations with superior results. In this article, we present a case report of single stage simultaneous hybrid stenting of stenotic right and left pulmonary artery in 6 years and 8 month old patient during primary surgical repair of atresia of the pulmonary artery in combination with the ventricular septal defect. Right and left pulmonary artery stenting was carried out in hybrid operation room using 10 Fr delivery sheets, introduced through the wall of the right ventricle with simultaneous implantation of the stent: 27 and 36 mm Palmaz Genesis stents. The proposed hybrid approach with the use of treatment methods is a promising method that allows eliminating the pathology of the pulmonary arteries effectively and safely.
