Abstract
An analysis of the causes of long-term complications' development in patients with the transposition of the great arteries (TGA),
which performed the arterial switching's operation. It was revealed that the main risk factors according to the data of different authors
are the anatomy of the main and coronary arteries' features, their spatial relationship and surgical features of the operation, especially
reimplantation of the coronary arteries. The risk factors for postoperative mortality in the postoperative period, according to a variety
of studies, include the scope of the experience of the institution, the level of the operating surgeon, the weight of the patient, the relationship
between the aorta and the pulmonary artery, the degree of left ventricular hypoplasia, the presence of left ventricular outflow
obstruction and coronary artery anomalies: and a single coronary artery. Given the lack of information on the impact of various risk
factors on the development of long-term complications, as well as the lack of an algorithm for the dynamic control of pathological
conditions peculiar to this category of patients, there is no doubt the relevance of performing research in this direction for analyzing
the results of treatment of children with simple TGA, studying pathogenesis and the definition of risk factors for the development of
complications in this group of patients, especially in the late period.
