Abstract
The paper presents a clinical case of diagnosis and stage treatment of a rare combination of congenital defects: left sinus aneurysm
of Valsalva with fistula in the left atrium, coarctation of the aorta, atrial septal defect, moderate aortic insufficiency. Given the decompensated
state of the patient associated with critical coarctation and concomitant pneumonia, there were high risks of simultaneous
correction. Surgical treatment was performed in two stages: resection of coarctation of the aorta by the first stage, then closure of the
aorto-left atrial fistula and atrial septal defect in the conditions of cardiopulmonary bypass. The described clinical case refers to an
extremely rare combination of cardiac anomalies, demonstrates an optimally chosen approach in the treatment of the patient. The
stages of surgical interventions made it possible to stabilize the initially serious condition of the child, to compensate for the reduced
systolic function of the heart, to avoid generalization of the infectious process associated with pneumonia.
