Abstract
The tactics of managing patients with pulmonary atresia with a combination of ventricular septal defect have changed significantly over the past 20 years. Thanks to the successful development of CHD surgery, as well as the improvement of anesthesia and cardiopulmonary bypass, especially in this cohort of patients, it became possible to carry out multi-stage surgical correction. Simultaneously with the improvement of clinical well-being and quality of life, exercise tolerance increases.
This report describes a case of successful multistage correction of pulmonary atresia. Thanks to the successful development of surgery for congenital heart defects, as well as the improvement of anesthesia and cardiopulmonary bypass, especially in this cohort of patients at this age, it became possible to carry out a multi-stage operation.
